Start with the number of people it needs to sleep, how long your stays will be and whether you expect to use it outside the main holiday season. Two-, three- and four-bedroom layouts are available. For colder months or longer stays, ask about insulation, central heating and the manufacturer’s winter specification.
Compare the bedroom arrangement, storage, kitchen space, lounge layout and shower-room access—not just the overall dimensions. A larger lodge-style model may suit longer stays, but it also needs a suitable pitch, access route and installation plan.
A new mobile home gives you the latest specification and warranty, while a carefully inspected pre-owned model can offer excellent value. Compare the year, make, model, condition, included equipment and after-sales support before comparing price.
Confirm the model and manufacturing year from its identification plate or chassis information. Inspect the roof, exterior panels, windows, floor, plumbing, appliances and signs of damp. Ask what has been repaired or replaced and have any uncertainty checked before committing.
Allow for more than the purchase price. Depending on the destination, the total may include delivery, siting, connections, steps or decking, park fees, insurance and specialist access equipment. Ask for a clear written breakdown so you can compare like with like.
If it is going to a holiday park, confirm pitch availability, annual fees, permitted models and any age or specification rules before buying. For private land or use connected with a building project, contact the relevant local planning authority before purchase or site works; permission requirements depend on the location, use and circumstances.
Transporting and siting a mobile home requires an access survey, the right towing and lifting equipment and experienced installers. Confirm who is responsible for access, delivery, cranage where needed, levelling, anchoring and service connections.
